NIGB seeks comments for the first revision of the Social Care Record Guarantee

The National Information Governance Board for Health and Social Care launched the Social Care Record Guarantee for England to social care professionals on 21 October 2009 and to service users and the public at the NIGB Annual Public Meeting on 12 November 2009.The Guarantee explains to service users how the information they provide to social care staff is used and what control they can have over this. It complements the NHS Care Record Guarantee for England.

The NIGB will regularly review the SCRG to ensure it remains clear and continues to reflect the law and best practice.

We would like to receive your comments, criticisms or suggestions for the first revision of the Social Care Record Guarantee. Please send your contribution to nigb@nhs.net  or to NIGB, New Kings Beam House, 7th Floor, 22 Upper Ground, London, SE1 9BW, by 21 May 2010.
